SLIME is an interactive Day of Making for all Long Islanders.  Kids and kids-at-heart can participate in hands-on activities that promote imagination and creativity.  From recyclables to robotics we can learn about STEAM - science, technology, research, engineering, art, and math.  SLIME celebrates the creativity and innovation of Long Island, one of the most dynamic communities in the United States.

Through making and hands-on learning we can help prepare our students today for the world of tomorrow, while respecting the past. Making promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, empathy for others, appreciation for the environment, cross-generational collaboration, and communication.  21st century learning skills that involve both low and high tech can prepare our students to become active participants and competitors in the global community.

They say it takes a village to raise a child.  Partnerships among schools, libraries, museums, companies, civic associations, and nonprofits can work together to support our children...our future!
